Carl Qiu immigrated to Canada with his parents and brothers at two years old and called University-Rosedale their first home as well as where he attended elementary school. Growing up, being educated, and working in Toronto, Carl learned the value of hard work, resilience, and dedication to the community.
Carl holds a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, York University and completed his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Toronto. He has spent his entire professional career in the heart of Ontario’s financial capital, spending many years at one of Canada’s largest banks. He currently works for a Canadian based global venture capital firm, helping to find new opportunities to modernize Canada’s financial and digital economy. His financial acumen and private sector experience will be an asset when advocating and championing business development for both large and small businesses in the province.
Carl is no stranger to politics, having been taken progressive roles in both federal and provincial campaigns. He most recently served as an elected member of the PC Party Executive where he successfully outreached and expanded the Conservative brand to youth from new areas of the province. He has also provided insights and commentary into the political climate on various platforms.
As a MPP for University-Rosedale, Carl will continue to fight for downtown Torontonians and champion issues that matter most to the community, including the rising cost of living and maintaining fiscal responsibility.
